Aeon's End

And finally, don't forget that Aeon's End is now available for pre-order. If you missed the Kickstarter campaign, you can still pledge your support via a pre-order. Stretch goals are still open throughout the pre-order period so there's still a chance to bring NightMist through the portal into the world of Aeon's End!

From all of us at Handelabra Games - Thanks for an amazing 2018. Enjoy it while you can, because 2019 will bring about the end of the Multiverse as we know it!

Aeon’s End Closes Tomorrow - Join us for the Party!
about 6 years ago – Mon, Dec 03, 2018 at 07:22:32 PM

We’ve been at PAX Unplugged all weekend, chatting with Sentinels fans, Aeon’s End fans, One Deck Dungeon fans and more! But even more exciting than that, on Saturday, Aeon’s End crossed our funding goal, and you’ve even helped unlock the first stretch goal. Thanks for all your support!

In this final day and a half, we still have the opportunity to unlock some stretch goals including new digital-exclusive promos, new crossover mages, and maybe even the first expansion: The Nameless! The campaign closes at 7:30 pm Tuesday evening during Handelabra Live. Join us at the usual time of 7 pm Eastern on Twitch where we’ll be counting down the last 30 minutes and popping the sparkling grape juice to celebrate a successful campaign.

Until then, please continue to spread the word on Facebook, Twitter, or wherever you have friends who might be interested in an innovative magical digital cooperative deckbuilder!

PAX, Aeon’s End for Mobile, and the Om-nom-nomnicannon!

Mordengrad is Full!

Thanks go out to everyone who signed up to be a part of Mordengrad! Jean-Marc was overwhelmed by the number of people interested in participating and we wanted to let you know that sign ups are now closed. If you signed up, you should be hearing from Jean-Marc soon with instructions on how to contribute to the glorious future of Mordengrad!

PAX Unplugged

Don’t forget to come say hi if you’ll be at PAX this weekend. Booth #1839 is where you’ll find us, and we may even have a free Sentinels-flavored gift for you if you do!

Aeon’s End

Our new project is nearing the finish line and we’re just about funded! Your support could be what we need to complete the game or unlock a stretch goal, and every dollar counts! New cards with new mechanics, crossover characters from Sentinels and One Deck Dungeon, and more could become a reality thanks to you! And something we just just announced today is mobile support!

Aeon's End on the go... with your help!
Aeon's End on the go... with your help!

While we still cannot offer keys directly for mobile versions of Aeon's End, we really want mobile players to be able to participate in the campaign in these last few days. The new Mobile Mage backer level is $1 and officially registers your desire to see Aeon’s End come to mobile. Your name will be listed in a special section of the credits dedicated to the mobile backers.

But there's a better reason to back at that level! For every registered mobile backer, we will release Aeon’s End for tablets 1 hour earlier. There are 720 hours in a month, so if 720 people back it at this level (or add-on $1), tablet support will launch day and date with Aeon’s End for Steam.

If you haven’t tried it yet, there is a free demo of the game at SIMMER, or you can try it below (although we recommend playing full screen for the best experience). We recently expanded the demo with more nemesis cards, so it really gives you a feel for how the game will play.

.

If you prefer to watch it played, John and Jeremy played through the extended demo this week on Handelabra Live, and you can watch it here.

How long is too long for a stream?

We told you last week about the Thanksgiving leftovers stream AnotherLetdown and LewdDolphin were planning to do, but we didn’t realize just what was going to happen. You see, they had a plan, called “Om-nom-nomnicannon” and they were going to execute it, come hell or high water, and boy howdy, did they!

Watch the entire 7 hour adventure below… if you dare!

Mordengrad Needs Your Voice, Post Thanksgiving Live Stream, and More
about 6 years ago – Tue, Nov 20, 2018 at 06:26:29 PM

The Maestro of the Multiverse is at it again! As we continue development on OblivAeon, Jean-Marc is working what will likely be one of the most popular aspects of the expansion: new music! You may recall back when Kaargra Warfang joined the game, we put out the call to you to lend your voices as the crowd in the Bloodsworn Colosseum. Well we need you again to help power the mighty factories of Mordengrad! If you want to get your voice, or your group's voices, immortalized in the music of Sentinels of the Multiverse, you can sign up here. No singing experience is required, and we're looking for all ages and ranges. Please spread the word to anyone else who might be interested!

Help us End another Aeon

A reminder that Aeon’s End is on Kickstarter RIGHT NOW! We’re just halfway through the campaign and over 80% funded so you know what that means - Stretch Goals! There’s a pretty great one for Sentinels fans in the form of your favorite paranormal investigator NightMist. Right now, she’s lost in the Void, but you can help her escape and stand with the breach mages against the endless Nameless storm. Join the campaign today!

Live Streams

As Thanksgiving here in the US falls on LewdDolphin’s usual streaming day, we wanted to let you know that his show is canceled this week. But he just couldn’t stay away so he’s teaming up with AnotherLetDown on Sunday night for “Handelabra Presents: Thanksgiving Leftovers”. We can’t for the Life of us imagine why you’d want to miss it. Especially after spending all of Black Friday in Line waiting to buy a PSVR or Nintendo Switch! Watch it live on Twitch on Sunday at 7PM Eastern.

Help NightMist Escape the Void in Aeon’s End!
about 6 years ago – Tue, Nov 13, 2018 at 06:27:19 PM

Last week we launched our next game, Aeon’s End on Kickstarter. After one week we’re more than ⅔ of the way to our goal, and we know that many of you have helped us get here - thank you! Today, we wanted to entice the rest of you with a new stretch goal - a Sentinels of the Multiverse/Aeon’s End crossover event!

Lost to the void?
Lost to the void?

How has NightMist ended up in the world of Aeon's End? Let Christopher Badell tell you the tale...

Faye Diamond was not just a paranormal investigator. Sure, it’s a decidedly weird job, but things got even weirder while she was infiltrating a witch-cult and ended up cursed by magical mists, making her physical form one of more mists than substance. This also innately connected her to otherworldly magics, and Faye took the name of NightMist, fighting discordian forces from beyond our realm. But that is all ancient history.

Much later, she was cleansed of her curse while fighting a dangerous villain with bizarre devices - one such device was meant to regress her powers, but it actually rid her body of the curse of the mists! While this was definitely an improvement for Ms. Diamond, it also cut her connection to the forces of magic, and she was back to just being an investigator, albeit one with a lot of first-hand knowledge. However, when a team of arcanely-powerful villains sought to take control of the world, Faye delved back into her magical ways, researching her tomes and manuscripts, seeking any knowledge that would allow her to stop this dreaded magical onslaught. As she grew more and more desperate, she ultimately gave into temptation and sought help from the most dangerous and unpredictable form of power: the Void itself. Faye Diamond pulled on the magic of the Void, but its pull was far stronger. It drew her into the Void, and there she was trapped for time unknowable, transforming into a being of pure magic to survive the eddies of energy within the Void.

The passage of time within the Void is unfathomable by the human mind. Even still, Faye was becoming less and less human with each passing second… day… eon? Who can say? She struggled against her Void-prison, seeking any avenue of exit, and fighting against the powerful denizens of the Void for centuries, subjectively. So, when she felt a weakness in the fabric of the Void, she lept for it, tearing her way into a new reality and leaving what she knew behind.

Now, the Void-powered creature who was once Faye Diamond has materialized in a new place called “Gravehold”. Terrible clashes between powerful mages and the monstrous nameless plague this world, but NightMist has never been one to back down from a challenge. Though she misses those she’s left behind, she joins the ranks of those who defend this new reality.

Mechanics

So how will she play? The following design by Kevin Riley is in the very early stages and is subject to change. NightMist’s journey through the Void has left her powers in an even more volatile state than before. In Sentinels, she leverages the chaos of her transformation to her advantage. In Aeon’s End, that will be no different.

As in Sentinels, all cards in NightMist’s deck will have a special number on them which will likely range from 1-3. In Aeon's End that will be called the Void number. In addition, the supply cards will also have a Void number when NightMist is in the game. Each card in a supply pile will have a different Void number. The higher the number, the bigger its effect. By giving each supply card a different Void number, she will have different decisions based on what she wants to optimize for.

Starter: Suffer 1 damage and gain a charge. Reveal a random card in your deck and deal damage equal to its Void number.

Ability: Prevent damage you would take this turn and gain life equal to the Void number of a random card in your deck.

-- OR --

Reveal three random cards in your deck, suffer 1 damage for each card revealed this way, and deal damage equal to their combined Void numbers.

In Sentinels, NightMist often reveals the top card of her deck and does an effect based on the number of that card. Given the no-shuffling nature of Aeon’s End, revealing the top card of your deck is perhaps not chaotic enough to capture that essence. More testing will be required to hone in on what the best design is.

Additionally, her IV breach is a Void breach. When a spell is cast from her Void breach, NightMist suffers 1 damage. That spell deals additional damage equal to its Void number.

If you’re not familiar with Aeon’s End already, that all may sound confusing. Luckily, we’ve got a demo you can try out for yourself over at SIMMER. Many players say Aeon’s End feels a lot like Sentinels in its cooperative gameplay, but it does some different things as well with its unique take on deck building. We think Sentinels players will find a lot to love in Aeon’s End.

OblivAeon

Even with all the excitement around Aeon's End, progress on OblivAeon continues to move forward! For those of you wondering how OblivAeon is coming along, we wanted to show you something:

End of the Multiverse? Not today!
End of the Multiverse? Not today!

This is the outcome of the very first game of digital OblivAeon played to completion in our early testing, just this week! From John: "This team of heroes went from start to finish, collecting a ton of great rewards. I managed to tip-toe through the many glitches and missing parts to defeat OblivAeon! For instance, he kept playing Scions every turn for no reason: that hurt! But he stopped playing Aeon Men at all: that helped! The game took about an hour and a half to complete, including noting down all the bugs I found on the run." We'll be sure to get those bugs sorted out even before beta testers get their hands on it.

There’s still a lot of challenging work to do, but we're continuing to make progress and will keep you posted!
